Just Be You, Sister Girl Workshop

I didn’t plan to write a journal.

But then… the last presidential election happened.

What I saw broke my heart. Watching Vice President Kamala Harris, one of the most accomplished women in government, get disrespected, dismissed, and downplayed… It made something in me shift.

It wasn’t just about politics.

It was about how this country sees Black women.

How it refuses to value our intelligence, leadership, and excellence.

But I know better.

I thought about Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, Sojourner Truth, Shirley Chisholm, Ida B Wells, Stacey Abrams, Michelle Obama, and all the brilliant Black women who’ve carried this country on their backs while being told to shrink.

That’s when I knew…

We don’t need to become anything.

We need to remember who we already are.

So I created Just Be You, Sister Girl, a guided journal to help Black women reflect, reset, and rise. Sometimes we need a mirror to see our magic.

Then something beautiful happened… I started hosting workshops based on my Just Be You, Sister Girl journal and Black women showed up.

Together, we created safe spaces, full of truth-telling, healing, and love. Women cried, laughed, and poured into each other. They left lighter and seen.

Now, I want to bring that experience to your space. If you're part of a book club, a sister circle, a ministry group, or any space where Black women gather… Invite me in. Let’s do this work together. This isn’t just a journal. It’s a movement!
